Meet the Speaker

Kate Viana is an Atlanta-based nonprofit consultant and trainer with nearly 20 years of experience meeting the incredibly diverse communications needs of organizations worldwide.
After more than a decade working in and alongside dozens of nonprofits throughout the United States, she founded Nontoxic Nonprofits to address the sector’s widespread cultural and communications-related toxicity. Today, she helps nonprofits examine their communications practices, identify toxic habits, and retrain staff to prioritize the mission and get growth back on track.

Kate is a Certified Nonprofit Consultant (NANOE) and Certified Nonprofit Professional (Nonprofit Leadership Alliance). She also has a BA in International Studies from Berry College and an MA in Integrated Global Communication from Kennesaw State University, as well as a professional Certificate of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University.

Kate has been training nonprofit leaders worldwide on the critical importance of clear, harmonious multigenerational communication since 2020 and is considered one of the sector’s foremost authorities on creating and maintaining a culturally healthy intergenerational nonprofit.
